During Panorama of Entrepreneurship and Career Development 2008 26 conferences were organized on entrepreneurship and career development issues.

 More specifically, we organized three types of conferences:

1) Sponsoring organizations were given the opportunity to present themselves in one of the conference rooms. Their speakers discussed issues like how their departments function (e.g. marketing and logistics), what qualities they are looking for in a candidate, what career opportunities are available in the organization etc. Last year, four organizations organized a presentation (in alphabetical order):

2) Panels were also organized on specific sectors of the Greek economy in order to discuss the present and the future of each of those sectors in terms of career opportunities.

The sectors we covered are:

• Shipping
• Banking
• Insurance industry
• Techology
• FMCG
• Retail
• Energy sector
• Tourism
• Advertising
• Creative Industry
• Pharmaceutical industry
• Consulting
• Cultural industry
• Heavy industry.

On top of the above, we organized two more conferences on career development issues:

• Working in the EU
• Working abroad (Expatriation).

3) Thirdly, there was a series of conferences on entrepreneurial issues like what venture capital is, what a young entrepreneur should watch out when embarking on entrepreneurial projects etc. The panels consisted of both up and coming and established entrepreneurs who shared with the audiences their personal experiences that led them to success, the difficulties they faced and the “lessons” they learnt through the years.

Four conference rooms were used simultaneously.

We invited eminent speakers with different backgrounds: entrepreneurs, ship owners, CEOs of multinational organizations, politicians etc.
