Els Hanappe studied Art History at the University of Gent in Belgium. Parallel to a career in the arts, she has a long-standing working relationship with the Fulbright Foundation in Greece, starting out in 1996 as the supervisor of the Fulbright/Prometric test center, which provided educational and professional online testing services. In 2005 and again in 2011, she furthermore accepted temporary assignments as acting financial administrator for the foundation’s main office. Since 2013, she is responsible for the Fulbright Scholarship Program for Greek citizens, comprised of ten different categories addressed to students, scholars, educators and early to mid-career professionals. Her duties include the organization of training programs and grant related activities as well as program design and planning.
